Mom Duties in Whites and Stripes

There’s nothing quite like the beginning of September to knock you out of the tranquility and easygoingness of summer and into new beginnings, hectic schedules and long to-do lists. It is that dreaded jolt that makes our summer vacation a very distant memory!

This first week of September has certainly delivered on that. Between the girls starting the new school year, my oldest participating in a tennis tournament out of the country, and my youngest moving to a brand new school, I have certainly had my hands full. Amidst all the frantic activities and coordination of schedules, I have tried to slow down as much as I can to cherish all the little moments and emotions of our September milestones. As I dropped off my youngest on her first day of school, I peeked over at a text she sent to her older sister (who had left for her tournament the day before) – “It is my first day at the new school!! Wish me luck!!’ followed by an emoticon of a trembling heart. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry! Their bond just melts my heart!

This was one of my outfits for a hectic day of mom duties. You cannot go wrong with a white jeans and striped tee combo. This particular top is from Denim & Supply, one of my favorite go-to brands for easy, casual pieces for busy days. Check out their selection at Macy’s.

Of course, a great pair of flats is a must for days like these. Metallics are having quite a moment right now, and these particular flats are a great combination of style and comfort. Check out some similar metallic styles in the links below.

My Outfit Details:

TOP: Denim & Supply (similar here and here) | JEANS: 7 for All Mankind

BAG: 3.1 Phillip Lim (found this on sale!) | SUNNIES: Ray Ban

SHOES: Similar Tory BurchKate Spade, and Sole Society, more high-end in Miu Miu

Lastly, here’s a snap of my sweetie pie as she was rushing off on her first day of school with her “trembling heart”! 🙂  As soon as I dropped her off, she met up with several of her girlfriends. They went off giggling and telling stories, and things quickly fell into place again, as they always do!
